Release notes
- 1.4.317 October 2026
Search finds the word you're still typing
- Typing a name and the start of another word, like “maria pa” on the way to “passport”, now puts the matching document first instead of everything else that person owns.
- Results no longer reorder while you finish typing a word.
- 1.4.217 October 2026
Save links by dragging them in
- Drag a link from Safari, or any browser, onto moi vault to save it: the page is read and saved with its text and image, and a YouTube video with its title, channel and thumbnail.
- The same link saved on your phone and on this Mac is one document, not two.
- 1.4.117 October 2026
Vault AI reads the right documents
- For forms and applications, Vault AI now reads the right papers: a visa form starts from your passport, and every kind of ID you hold is considered, not just the newest.
- When you say “my”, Vault AI knows that means you and leaves other family members’ documents out. Ask about “my wife Shruthi” and it reads hers.
- Names are understood however they’re spelled or dictated, like Laxmi for Lakshmi or Shruti for Shruthi.
- Answers start sooner and fit the question: a line for a quick lookup, a complete answer for a form, a plan or a comparison.
- If you ask while Vault AI is still answering, or you’ve reached today’s questions, it now tells you so instead of showing an error.
- 1.4.015 October 2026
Search that answers as you type
- Search now shows results with every letter you type, with no pause.
- Results are ranked the way your phone ranks them: the documents you mean come first, whether you type a person, a kind of document, a year or an ID number.
- Small typos are understood, and a word half-typed already finds what it starts.
- Searches that describe something in other words still find it, mixed into the same order rather than listed separately.
- 1.3.011 October 2026
A short tour of everything it does
- A new tour, How moi vault works, shows in under a minute how to save a file by dragging it, where Auto files it, how to search from any app, and how to drag documents back out.
- You can try each step for real as you go: drop a file, press your search shortcut, or drive a practice library with the arrow keys, Space, Return and ⌘Y.
- Open the tour again any time from the right-click menu or the ⌘ shortcuts panel.
- 1.2.211 October 2026
Bank details you can copy
- Bank details someone sends you, like a payee's account number, IFSC, SWIFT or UPI ID, now get their own Bank Details card, with each number on its own line ready to copy.
- Ask Vault AI for someone's bank details or IFSC and it finds the right document.
- 1.2.19 October 2026
Profile photos stay after a restart
- Profile photos set on your phone now show up every time you open moi vault, not only until the next restart.
- If a photo can't load for a moment, moi vault tries again after it next syncs instead of leaving it blank.
- 1.2.09 October 2026
Share an answer, see what each chat was about
- Share under a Vault AI answer now opens a preview of the message before it goes: your question, the answer as clean text, and the documents it came from. Click any part to leave it out.
- Tables arrive as one readable line per row and charts as their numbers, so what lands in Messages reads properly, not as symbols and code.
- Attach the source documents if you want to. Each starts switched off, and identity documents such as passports are marked before you send them.
- Messages is one click. More… opens AirDrop, Mail, Notes and the rest.
- To share an earlier answer, use the share button at the top of the chat and pick the answers to include.
- Each chat in the sidebar now shows the documents it drew on as a small stack of thumbnails, so you can tell chats apart at a glance.
- 1.1.08 October 2026
Updates that install themselves
- moi vault now keeps itself up to date. New versions download in the background and install while you're away from your Mac, when it's locked, asleep or idle. Nothing pops up and nothing interrupts you.
- When a new version is waiting, the menu-bar icon shows a small dot and the window names the version. To install it straight away, choose Restart to Update from the window or by right-clicking the menu-bar icon.
- Prefer to decide yourself? Turn off Download and install automatically in Settings → Updates. You'll still see the dot, and you choose when to update.
- Settings → Updates shows your version, when moi vault last checked, and a Check for Updates button.
- 1.0.48 October 2026
Thumbnails that always show up
- Documents whose file was saved again now show their thumbnail instead of a blank “PDF” tile.
- If a thumbnail can't be opened, it's fetched again rather than left blank.
- 1.0.38 October 2026
Drag a file anywhere to save it, and Share that works
- Start dragging a file anywhere on your Mac, from Finder, the desktop or Mail, and moi vault opens its drop areas under the menu bar. Drop it on Auto, Family or Personal. Let go anywhere else and it gets out of the way. You can turn this off in Settings.
- Share now opens the Mac's share menu (AirDrop, Mail, Messages and more) from a document, the selection bar, right-click menus, Vault AI answers, chats and details sheets. Before, pressing Share did nothing.
- 1.0.28 October 2026
Vault AI on your Mac, and Safari-style ways to get around
- Ask Vault AI from your Mac: press ⌘J or the chat button in the menu-bar window, or type a question in search and press ⌘↩. Ask about this document works from any document.
- Your chats are the same on your Mac and your phone. Start a chat on one and carry on from the other. Chats are encrypted with your Personal key, so family members never see them.
- Gather details for anything you're filling in: a visa or passport application for several people, a check-in, an insurance claim, a tax return, a car or home renewal. Vault AI lists every field the task asks for, person by person, from your documents, including fields that only appear in a document's text. It marks what you still need to fill in.
- Click any value to copy it, or drag it straight into a field on a website. Copy one person's details or everything at once, share them, and drag the documents to attach into the upload box.
- Answers show charts, tables, highlighted notes and copyable details, as on your phone. Each answer links to the documents it used, and you can open, drag out or share them.
- Get around Vault AI like Safari: back and forward between chats with ⌘[ ⌘] or a two-finger swipe, ⌘F to find in a chat, ⌥⌘F to search every chat's messages, ⌥↑ ⌥↓ to jump between your questions, and a rail showing where you are in a long chat. Press ? for every shortcut.
- The menu-bar window goes back and forward too: swipe with two fingers or press ⌘[ ⌘] to return from a document. Press Space or ⌘-click to select several documents, then drag them all out at once or Quick Look them with ⌘Y.
- The library shows where you are as you scroll, with a Top button and ⌘↑ to get back. A new search, filter or sort starts from the top, and coming back after a while starts fresh.
- Profile photos of the people in your vault now show on your Mac.
- 1.0.18 October 2026
Every kind of document, shown the way your phone shows it
- Saved links open straight in your browser, and YouTube videos in YouTube, instead of showing the page as text. The same buttons as on your phone: Open in YouTube, Open Reel, Open in Maps, Buy, App Store.
- Recipes show their time, servings, ingredients with amounts, numbered steps and tips. Places from a reel list each spot with a Maps button, and what you've visited and rated.
- Notes are shown as formatted text with working links, ready to copy or share. Videos show their transcript; saved pages, the text that was read from them.
- Every document shows whose it is: the person's photo or initials and name, plus anyone else it mentions. Filter the library and search by person, as on your phone.
- Share any document with AirDrop, Mail, Messages and the rest: right-click it, or use Share on its page. Links share as links.
- Arrow keys scroll the list to keep the selected document in view, and titles no longer repeat their type.
- Choose your own search shortcut in Settings: click it and press the keys you want. If another app already uses them, moi vault says so.
- 1.0.08 October 2026
moi vault, on your Mac
- Connect your Mac by scanning a code with moi vault on your iPhone and approving with Face ID. Your Mac gets its own key; your master password never leaves your phone, and you can disconnect it from the phone at any time.
- Drop files on the menu-bar icon to save them. Hold a file over the icon to choose Family or Personal; IDs, bank statements and medical records go to Personal on their own.
- Where this Mac can't save directly, a file is sent to your phone to approve instead.
- Search everything with ⌥⌘V: by name, by a number on the document, or by describing it in a few words.
- Browse your library as cards, a list or a gallery, sorted the way your phone sorts it, and filtered by space or type.
- Drag any document straight into Chrome, Mail or a folder when a site asks you to upload it.
- Your library is decrypted only in memory. On disk your Mac keeps one encrypted file, and erases it the moment you disconnect.
- Optional Touch ID lock, and automatic updates.
